Artist's Comments

Bryce5.5 model made in Wings3D and imported via DAZstudio. A materials experiment, the mat on the model is self illuminating under most circumstances so I placed it in a virtually lightless environment, by most standards, an almost black environment and by putting a mirror around it got it to kinda light itself - but clearly the rendered is not entirely what to make of it since the reflection isn't altogether right to may way of thinking - but I liked the effect. Final image, because it was so dark, was gamma'd up in PSP7 which had the effect of enhancing it's strangeness and boosting the colours in what I felt was an altogether peasing way.

Wow, David, I reallly like this one! The model is fantastic...Your materials and lighting are great. I love the color of the background...It suits the object beautifully! Strange and very alien looking! =D

I guess sometimes less really is more - this is a very simple image took about an hour to render and about the same to cook up! Thanks.

Any chance of doing this in terragen?

As it happens, no. This took about an hour to render - there's not all that much going on and I didn't overburden the renderer with excessive ray depth.
